Car Servicing at Stoneacre

Here at Stoneacre we offer a variety of car servicing options to suit all drivers. We represent some of the biggest manufacturers in the UK and offer approved servicing that follows manufacturer service schedules.

In addition to manufacturer servicing, we also offer affordable car servicing options in the shape of our interim, full and major services.

We also offer car service plans that allow you to spread the cost of your annual servicing, or save money by booking your MOT and service together.

We use genuine parts, or parts approved by manufacturers, so you can be assured that you’re receiving the best possible service from our highly-trained technicians.

What service should you choose?

If you want to follow your manufacturer’s service schedule and ensure that parts are checked and replaced at the correct intervals then you should choose a manufacturer service.

Manufacturer servicing might be referred to as Service 1, 2, 3 etc. based on your car’s age and mileage. You can find more information about what these services include by looking in your manual.

Our interim service includes 50 detailed checks of your car and is recommended every 6,000 miles or 6 months. It’s perfect if you cover a lot of miles and want to keep your car free of faults. It’s sometimes referred to as an oil and filter change.

Our full service is what most people would think of as annual servicing and is recommended every 12,000 miles or every 12 months. It includes 67 individual checks on your car and is ideal for the average driver.

A major service is the most comprehensive that can be carried out and is recommended every 24,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first. It includes 74 checks and replaces parts that need to be replaced every 2 years. If you want in-depth servicing of your car, this is the one to choose.

How much does a car service cost?

The cost of a car service depends on whether your car is still under warranty. If it’s still within its manufacturer warranty, which could be 3, 5 or 7 years depending on the make of your car then you should follow the service schedule set out by your manufacturer.

Car service prices will differ depending on the manufacturer and the age of your car. Each type of service checks and replaces certain components so the car servicing cost changes accordingly.

If your car is older and is outside its warranty then you are free to choose a package to suit your needs. Again, the car service price depends on the type of service you choose.

Our interim service costs just £99 and is our cheapest service. If you want a standard annual service, our full service costs from £159. If you need something even more comprehensive our major service is priced from £229.

If your MOT is due soon, you can save 25% of the cost of your MOT by booking it together with a service. Prices start at £129 for an interim service and MOT.

What is included in a car service?

Again this depends on the service you choose. Manufacturer servicing differs depending on the specific manufacturer, your car’s age and its mileage. You should consult your car’s service book for more detailed information about what’s included.

Our interim service includes 50 detailed checks of your car, the full service includes 67 and the major service includes 74. These services check everything from your steering, brakes, clutch, suspension, tyres and fluid levels.

What do you need to bring to a car service?

Ideally we will need the locking wheel nuts or alloy wheel keys so we can easily remove the wheels to check your steering, brakes and suspension.

It would also be helpful if you could bring your service book with you so we can easily check your service history and when parts were checked and replaced.

We will also stamp your service book when finished. Being able to show a full service history can help improve your car’s resale value.
