Who makes Abarth Cars?

Founded in 1949, Abarth was developed from an independent racing and road car producer (Carlo Abarth) into one of the hallmark manufacturers of the European hatchback market. Known in its early days for producing high-performing and powerful, yet relatively small cars, this unique mix is still prevalent in today’s new Abarth models.

Abarth is now owned by Fiat, and produce sport models for the iconic Fiat 500 city-car. The new Abarth 595 and 695 all carry the distinctive look of the Fiat 500, but feature an advanced turbocharged 1.4-litre performance engine. Abarth cars also carry their own signature styling, with performance alloy wheels and racing-inspired body kits.

New Abarth cars include the entry-level 595, which offers a great introduction to the Abarth marque. It’s available with several different engine options, ranging from 140 brake horsepower to a full-blooded 180bhp Competizione variant. The next model up is the new Abarth 695, a potent taste of the Italian brand’s capacity on the track. It has the same 1.4 turbocharged engine as the 595, but is tuned to deliver 190bhp and a top speed of 143mph.
