High mileage cars often have lower depreciation, while it's the other way around for lower mileage vehicles.   • Are used cars worth it?

    Ask yourself this - what are you looking for in a car? If it's something that's easy on the wallet, then used cars are the way to go.   • Which used cars are road tax free?

    Under the new road tax rules, introduced in April 2020, only electric vehicles are exempt from road tax. However, used cars registered between March 2001 and 31 March 2017 that produce CO2 that's less than 100g/km are also exempt. It's well worth to check before purchasing a used car so you're aware of such costs and impact to the environment.

    You can reserve a used car easily with Stoneacre - each car has the Reserve option where you can tell us more about yourself, and reserve the vehicle there and then. Collection of the vehicle can then be arranged between you and the dealership. All the cars are thoroughly cleaned and handed to you while keeping to social distancing protocols.

  • Are used cars subject to VAT?

    Used cars aren't subject to VAT if they are sold by a private seller. Meanwhile, car dealer's second-hand vehicles VAT is paid for by the business, so it costs nothing to the buyer.
