New Toyota Hilux

The latest Toyota Hilux has received some substantial cosmetic, technological and mechanical improvements.

Most noticeably is the exterior; the new more robust looking bumper, grille and arches combine to make the eighth-generation Hilux the most prominent presence on the road to date. The Hilux now has a go-anywhere look to match the legendary Toyota 4x4 go-anywhere reputation. Purchasers now have an increased option, when it comes to the paint on their Hilux introduction of 'Titan Bronze' really exposing the angular body pannels and subtle highlights the Toyota 4x4 has to offer. This generation Hilux looks as good in urban city centres as it does in the fields.

Under the bonnet, the new Hilux now has the option of a larger 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine producing over 200bhp available in both automatic and manual. The increased motor outputs 500Nm of torque, improving the Hilux's 0-60 by over 3 seconds, so not only does this new Hilux look the part it has all the torque to back it up.

Inside the cockpit, drivers have access to many more luxuries both at the top and bottom of the range. Drivers of the Icon and active grades now benefit from folding door mirrors, reversing camera, privacy glass and practical sidesteps that were all previously optional extras.

At the top of the range, the legendary Toyota 4x4 has benefitted from a new sound system courtesy of JBL. The nine-speaker 800w system is perfect for belting out your favourite tunes through apple car play or android auto.

Toyota 4x4

Arguably the main selling point of the Hilux is its reliability and off-road capabilities, Toyota hasn't forgotten it's humble beginnings with the eighth-generation Hilux. Toyota's latest 4x4 system is the most sophisticated yet with the body on frame construction, enabling the Hilux to tackle torsional forces better than ever before. Accelerator response in the new Hilux is tuned to allow for greater driver control, so drivers feel maximum manoeuvrability of their vehicle at all times. Finally, the addition of the angle monitor is a convenient addition to avid offroaders to have the vital information in front of them during steep incline, decline and slopes.

It's fair to say this Toyota 4x4 lives up to the name.
