Kia XCeed Plug-in Hybrid Design

With all the latest technology, the XCeed Plug-in Hybrid is a truly modern car, with a spacious, refined and comfortable interior, complete with satellite navigation and smartphone integration for Android and Apple phones.

Kia also offers an exclusive First Edition trim, which is a grade up from the still-impressive Kia XCeed PHEV 3. On this range-topping model, you’ll receive extra smart features like heated front and outer rear seating, a hands-free tailgate, and a Smart Park Assist feature. The Kia XCeed PHEV First Edition also benefits from premium leather upholstery and a driver-seat memory function.

The Kia XCeed PHEV boot space holds 291-litres of luggage, expanding to 1243-litres with the seats down. The new XCeed PHEV has 40/20/40 split folding rear seats, allowing the space to expand and make way for a longer and bulkier amount of luggage.

As for smaller items, the interior storage features cover these. There is door storage, both a front and rear armrest with a sliding cover and storage box. There are also cup holders in the centre armrests and front seatback pockets for maps and thinner items.

Kia XCeed Plug-in Hybrid Safety

The new Kia XCeed Plug-in Hybrid is packed full of intelligent safety design systems. In terms of parking, the new XCeed helps in many ways. Kia has built the XCeed PHEV with both rear parking sensors and a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines. The XCeed PHEV also has Smart Parking Assist, which controls the steering wheel to help with parallel and perpendicular parking.

The car also has a Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW), which gives you radar monitoring on the motorway to help keep you aware of cars approaching in other lanes. The new XCeed Plug-in Hybrid has a range of driving assistance features such as Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Lane Following Assist (LFA). Whilst LKA will intervene with the steering to keep the car from drifting, Lane Following Assist tries actively to keep the car in the centre of the lane.

Not only this, but the XCeed PHEV has Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go functionality (SCC w/S&G), plus Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), which sends haptic feedback and actively brakes to help avoid oncoming pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

Kia XCeed Plug-in Hybrid Performance

The new Kia XCeed Plug-in Hybrid is the latest model in a growing range of Kia hybrid-electric vehicles. The trendy-looking crossover has an athletic, coupe style that is unique to its class. As a hybrid, it uses both a 1.6-litre GDi petrol engine and an 8.9kWh lithium-ion battery that powers a 44.5kW motor. This gives the XCeed a 36-mile electric range and a claimed fuel economy of 201mpg.

Like all modern hybrids, the new XCeed Plug-in Hybrid uses a regenerative braking system to recharge the battery. When the car brakes, or is coasting, the electric motor will work in reverse to generate the energy that can be converted back into electricity.

Kia has introduced its ‘Coasting Guide’ to the Kia XCeed Hybrid, which helps you maximise the regenerative braking by telling when to take the foot off the pedal. This activates an electric-only driving mode, which includes an ingenious virtual engine sound that helps keep pedestrians aware of the car.
