A Milestone for Volvo and Stoneacre

Volvo Cars UK has marked a historic shift in its fleet strategy with the launch of its first-ever commercial vehicles, the fully electric EX30 Cargo and EX30 Cross Country Cargo.

Debuted on March 25th 2026, this car-derived van marks a key milestone in the UK light commercial vehicle sector and is available exclusively through fleet sales channels.

Both models are offered in Core and Plus trims, with Model Year 2026 and Model Year 2027 allocations available, giving businesses flexibility to choose the right specification.

Space and Practicality

The EX30 Cargo is a second-stage conversion of the EX30 compact SUV, retaining original safety certification and Safe Space Technology to support fleet confidence.

The cabin remains identical to the passenger version, offering a refined and highly comfortable working environment that supports driver wellbeing and retention.

Cargo capacity is a key strength, with a 390kg payload and up to 1,000 litres of load space, making it suitable for both smaller jobs and higher-volume operations.

The load area features a flat floor, a lower storage compartment accessed via a panel, and a bulkhead for cabin protection, ensuring a practical and secure working space.

Wider-opening rear doors and an integrated cargo light improve day-to-day usability, while an underfloor subframe adds versatility with extra mounting and securing points.

Design and Technology

The EX30 Cargo combines clean Scandinavian design with practical functionality, creating a modern and efficient mobile workspace for everyday business use.

A 12.3-inch central touchscreen with Google Automotive Services is included as standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity.

Ambient lighting themes such as Nordic Twilight and Forest Bath help create a calm and focused driving environment, supporting driver comfort throughout the working day.

Core models include Adaptive Cruise Control, with front and rear Park Assist and a rear Park Assist camera to help make parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces easier.

Plus models build on this with Pilot Assist, a Harman Kardon sound system, Digital Key Plus, and heated seats and steering wheel, enhancing convenience and in-cabin comfort.

Safety and Performance

Safety remains central to the Volvo EX30 Cargo, with Safe Space Technology carried over from the SUV platform to help protect drivers and reduce fatigue.

The vehicle is offered with a choice of electric powertrains to suit different business needs, each designed to balance efficiency, performance, and reliability.

Every version includes a 3-phase 11kW onboard charger and an integrated heat pump to support range and efficiency in varying conditions.
