All-New Hyundai TUCSON Revealed: Bold Design, Next-Gen Tech, and Hybrid Power

Hyundai Motor has officially unveiled the all-new TUCSON. This popular C-segment SUV brings a fresh look, electrified engines, and state-of-the-art cabin technology.

Since its launch in 2004, the TUCSON has been a massive hit in Europe. Over two million units have found homes across the region. In 2025, it ranked as the number one private C-SUV in Europe.

Rather than playing it safe, Hyundai completely overhauled its icon. “Renewing an icon is never easy,” says Xavier Martinet, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe. “We challenged ourselves to move TUCSON forward in every area that matters to customers. The result is the best TUCSON we have ever made.”

Here is everything you need to know about Hyundai’s newest flagship SUV.

Striking ‘Art of Steel’ Exterior Design

The all-new TUCSON introduces Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design language. The exterior features muscular fenders and crisp body lines. These details highlight the natural strength and tension of steel.

The vehicle has grown in every dimension. It now measures 4,560 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,670 mm tall. Compared to the previous model, it is 35 mm longer, 35 mm wider, and 20 mm taller. These larger proportions create a stronger road stance while expanding interior space.

Practical improvements accompany the bold styling. The front overhang has expanded by 20 mm to improve pedestrian protection. In addition, the door opening angle has widened from 73 to 83 degrees. This change makes getting in and out much easier.

Buyers can choose from vibrant new exterior colours. These include Moonlake Blue, Rich Walnut (both in metallic or matte finishes), and Ignite Red. A dynamically styled version will debut at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October 2026.

Cutting-Edge Lighting Signatures

Lighting plays a central role in the new Hyundai TUCSON design. At the front, H-Edge lighting combines central and edge illumination. This creates a wider, more grounded look on the road.

At the rear, 3D sculptural Prism Rear Lamps sharpen the vehicle’s outline. LED rear lamps come standard across European models.

Higher trim levels offer Micro Pixel Lighting (MPL). This system uses 25,600 individual LED pixels to control light beams precisely. It also displays animated welcome and farewell lighting sequences.

A Furnished, High-Tech Cabin Experience

Step inside, and you will find a serene, furniture-inspired interior. Hyundai designed the cabin to reduce stress and create a relaxing environment. Soft cushioning covers the dashboard top, door panels, and armrests.

The minimalist dashboard features a clever two-layer layout. The top layer houses display screens for clear vision. The lower layer includes a deep open storage tray.

Essential controls remain easy to view and reach. A slim 9.9-inch digital instrument display sits above the steering wheel. Drivers can also opt for a Head-Up Display that projects key driving data directly onto the windscreen.

Hyundai has kept physical buttons for core infotainment controls. The central armrest is extended to support your arm while using the touchscreen. Beneath it, you will find dual 15 W wireless charging pads and hidden storage. Four 100 W USB-C fast-charging ports allow passengers to power laptops and tablets effortlessly.

Moving the gear selector to the steering column opens up extra space in the centre console. An illuminated gear indicator makes shifting intuitive.

Superior Space, Ergonomics, and Everyday Comfort

Passenger space is generous throughout the cabin. Front occupants enjoy 1,038 mm of headroom and 1,470 mm of shoulder room. Rear passengers benefit from 1,002 mm of legroom.

Seating comfort reaches new heights. The driver can enjoy the Ergo Motion Seat. It uses a seven-cell pneumatic system to provide lumbar support and massage functions. Both front seats can also feature Relaxation Comfort settings with one-touch recline.

Climate control is equally advanced. The Multi-Air Mode System distributes air softly through multiple vents. This eliminates harsh direct airflow. A three-zone climate system lets different occupants set their preferred temperatures.

A 13.5V Metal-Coated Heated Glass windscreen de-ices completely in just 15 minutes. In summer, it reflects 60 percent of solar energy. This keeps the cabin two degrees cooler and reduces air conditioning strain.

Practical touches include hidden umbrella holders in the front doors and rear cup holders. Second-row seats feature an AddGear port, letting passengers clip in accessories like tablet mounts or fragrance diffusers. European buyers can pick between Black, Dark Blue Grey/Dove Grey, and Misty Plum interior themes.

Next-Generation Pleos Connect Infotainment

Technology takes a giant leap forward with Pleos Connect. Powered by Android Automotive OS, the system features touchscreens up to 17 inches.

An AI-enhanced voice assistant called Gleo AI accesses live internet data. Drivers can control vehicle functions using simple conversational speech.

Because it runs on Android Automotive OS, Pleos Connect offers native access to third-party apps. Over-the-air (OTA) updates keep software fresh without visiting a dealership.

Music lovers can upgrade to a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Hyundai Digital Key 2 lets drivers unlock and start the SUV using a smartphone or smartwatch.

Advanced Electrified Powertrains and Towing Power

The next-gen Hyundai TUCSON offers a versatile lineup of electrified engines. The entry model pairs a 148 bhp 1.6 T-GDI petrol engine with a six-speed manual. A 48V mild hybrid setup with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is also available.

The full hybrid (HEV) variant produces 242 bhp and 280 lb-ft of torque. It features HEV Stay Mode. This allows climate control, audio, and device charging to run quietly while the petrol engine stays off.

For maximum power and efficiency, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) delivers 288 bhp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Its 17.1 kWh battery provides an estimated electric range of up to 50 miles (81 km) on 17-inch wheels. A 7.2 kW on-board charger enables fast AC top-ups.

Towing capability is impressive across the range. Hybrid models can tow up to 1,910 kg, while the PHEV handles up to 1,810 kg. Trailer Reverse Assist simplifies reversing when hitched.

Comprehensive Safety and Smart Driver Assist

Safety remains a top priority for Hyundai. The next generation of the Hyundai TUCSON uses hot-stamped, high-strength steel and seven airbags, including a front-centre airbag.

Camera-based monitoring tracks driver attention and warns of drowsiness. Rear Occupant Alert and Child Presence Detection help prevent passengers from being left behind.

Hyundai SmartSense features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 and Highway Driving Assist 2. Intelligent Speed Limit Assist and Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control adjust speed automatically according to road conditions.

Parking is easier than ever. Memory Reverse Assist records up to 50 metres of forward travel at speeds up to 18 mph. It then automatically steers the car in reverse along that exact path. Ground View Monitor provides a clear view beneath four-wheel-drive models. Meanwhile, Remote Smart Parking Assist lets you park from outside the vehicle.
