Stoneacre Motor Group’s Managing Director, Shaun Foweather, has joined the Automotive 30% Club as a Silver Member in order to bring more diversity and equality to the automotive industry and company.

The Automotive 30% Club is a voluntary network of Managing Directors and CEOs from automotive manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers. The group aims to achieve a better gender balance across the industry, with a specific goal: filling at least 30% of key leadership positions in member organisations with women by 2030.

To help drive this change, Managing Director Shaun Foweather has joined the club, committing to creating a more inclusive workplace for women at Stoneacre Motor Group.

Recognising that traditional gender roles are outdated, Shaun believes the industry has a duty to advocate for equal opportunities. To turn this vision into action, Shaun and other Stoneacre leaders have launched quarterly ‘Women in the Motor Trade’ meetings with key female team members. These sessions focus on designing and implementing clear paths for women to progress into senior roles, ultimately building a more balanced workplace.

Speaking on the matter, Shaun Foweather stated:

“As a company, Stoneacre has high ambitions to increase the many upper management roles that we are providing for the women in our business. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and diverse company but understand that achieving equality for women in the automotive industry as a whole is still ongoing. We are proud to be joining the 30% Automotive Club as we make headway on realising these ambitions for our female leaders.”

Despite the challenges of recent years, society has evolved significantly to champion these vital movements. Women have always played a huge part in the automotive sector, as highlighted in our ‘10 Influential Women’ blog, which celebrates their invaluable contributions to the motoring world.

Commenting on his vision for the industry, Shaun noted: “The challenges of the current era do not knock our confidence that real change is achievable.”

Stoneacre recognises that involving female team members in decision-making is crucial for moving the business forward. Over the next five years, our goal is to support more women into higher managerial roles, with the ultimate aim of developing female leaders up to board level.

To support this growth, Stoneacre continues to promote flexibility by offering hybrid working where possible. Shaun concluded: “This not only helps our teams achieve a better work-life balance, but we believe it will also open doors for women during recruitment—providing more flexibility and opportunity to choose a career that fits their lifestyle.”

By joining the Automotive 30% Club, Stoneacre is embracing the opportunity to learn, grow, and provide women with equal opportunities and a secure environment to build a career.
