Renault has announced that the Renault Megane E-Tech 100% Electric and Renault Capturs E-Tech have both won at the DrivingElectric Awards 2023. The annual DrivingElectric Awards celebrate the very best electric and hybrid cars on sale. The 2023 awards are the biggest yet, with 28 different categories spanning hot hatchbacks to home chargers. The awards ceremony was held in London, and Renault was praised for its innovation in electric vehicles.

Amongst the awards, the all New Renault Megane E-Tech 100% Electric won the ‘Technology Award’, as well as the Renault Captur E-Tech won ‘Best Small Hybrid Car’ at the DrivingElectric Awards 2023 for the second consecutive year.

Renault Megane E-TECH 100% Electric Award:

The All-New Renault Megane E-Tech 100% Electric was recognised for its innovative engineering and cutting-edge equipment after winning the ‘Technology Award’ at the DrivingElectric Awards 2023. Judges of this esteemed award praised the system’s 9-inch OpenR link multimedia with Google built-in from the Techno trim. This system enables access to real-time navigation on Google Maps as well as hands-free help functions through Google Assistant – all available via one easily accessible app store.

Richard Ingram, Editor at DrivingElectric said: “With its 9-inch touchscreen and intuitive Google software, the Renault Megane E-Tech sets a new class benchmark for in-car connectivity and usability. It’s responsive and the graphics are sharp; it’s quite simply one of the best systems we’ve ever tested.”

The All-New Renault Megane E-Tech 100% Electric is the first of a new generation of electric vehicles built on the advanced CMF-EV platform, styled within the brand’s ‘sensual tech’ design language and the first model to wear the new ‘Nouvel’R’ logo. It also features up to 22 advanced driving assistance systems.

Furthermore, Guillaume Sicard, Country Head UK & Managing Director Renault Brand UK, added: “The All New Megane E-Tech 100% Electric demonstrates all that Renault has learnt in over a decade of manufacturing class-leading electric vehicles. This latest award recognises how its technology reaches far beyond its advanced drivetrain, providing customers with the essential convenience and connectivity that is not only designed to meet their needs today but also in the future.”

Second-time Winner:

The Renault Captur E-Tech continued to dazzle in the hybrid car category, winning its second consecutive Best Small Hybrid Car award at this year’s DrivingElectric awards. Taking home top honours once again, the vehicle combines efficiency and refinement into one sleek package – making it an easy choice for experts on the judging panel.

Richard Ingram, Editor at DrivingElectric said: “Hybrid technology used to be the preserve of bigger family cars, but now you can reap the benefits of electrification in a small-car package. The Renault Captur is the best of the bunch; smooth, comfortable and efficient, it’s our favourite Small Hybrid Car for 2023.”

The Renault Captur E-Tech plug-in hybrid offers the best of both worlds, combining the benefits of an advanced electric drivetrain with the ability to effortlessly handle much longer journeys. It offers a range of up to 30 miles (WLTP) in pure-electric mode and although developing 160hp, can return up to 217.3mpg (WLTP combined) and emit as little as 30g/km CO2. Its usability extends to a full charge from a domestic plug socket being possible in only 4 hours and 15 minutes, with a normal wallbox completing the task in three hours.

It’s an achievement we are very proud of, and it recognises how the Captur provides those considering an electrified car with a great deal of choice and a highly usable solution that suits their circumstances and preferences.”

With no need for plug-in charging, the Renault Captur E-Tech full hybrid benefits those that wish to reduce running costs without changing their driving habits. It provides a fun yet efficient driving experience thanks to its responsive electric motors, fuel economy of up to 60.1 mpg (WLTP combined), and a smooth and silent automatic gearbox. For added peace of mind, both full hybrid or plug-in hybrid models come complete with an eight-year (or 100,000) mile battery warranty.

These cars offer customers a great deal of convenience, connectivity, efficiency, comfort, performance and peace of mind that make them an easy choice for anyone looking for an electrified vehicle option.
