The iconic Renault 4 returns with a bold, electrified twist as Renault unveils the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car. This striking concept will make its global debut on 18 May 2026 at the legendary Roland-Garros, held at the Porte d’Auteuil stadium in Paris.

Blending heritage with innovation, this show car hints at a future addition to the Renault 4 range. It also reinforces Renault’s growing commitment to electrification while celebrating one of the most prestigious events in tennis.

Sport-Chic Design Inspired by Tennis Heritage

Renault has taken a refined approach to styling, creating what it describes as a “sporty chic” interpretation of the Renault 4. The Glacier White bodywork immediately catches the eye, acting as a clean canvas for a host of bespoke details.

Contrasting black side pillars and roof arches give the car a more dynamic stance, while subtle silver trim on the front wings incorporates the Roland-Garros emblem. The 18-inch Parisienne wheels feature a black diamond-cut finish with smoked varnish, complemented by distinctive Terracotta Brown wheel hubs. This clay-inspired accent continues across the front and rear bumper trims, subtly referencing the tournament’s famous courts.

Based on the Plein Sud version, the show car includes a large electric-powered black canvas roof. Measuring up to 92 cm in length and 80 cm in width, it opens up the cabin to natural light and fresh air, echoing the open-sky experience of watching tennis outdoors.

Interior Craftsmanship Meets Sustainability

Step inside, and the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric continues its thoughtful design story. The cabin features light grey upholstery made entirely from recycled materials, underlining Renault’s sustainability goals.

The fabric itself has a technical, sportswear-inspired weave, with open sections integrated into the seatbacks. Blue refined textile accents appear on side supports and the armrest, adding a premium touch. The Roland-Garros logo is heat-embossed into the front seats, reinforcing the collaboration.

Details throughout the cabin feel carefully considered. Door panels and the lower dashboard incorporate matching materials, along with a subtle French flag motif. A vertical dashboard strip in anodised metal includes a backlit “Roland Garros Paris” signature, adding a modern yet elegant focal point.

One of the most creative touches is the e-pop shifter. Its tip is designed to resemble the grip of a tennis racket, complete with the Roland-Garros logo at the end. The centre console features a clay-coloured wireless charging pad, while matching floor mats and brushed aluminium door sills complete the theme.

A Digital Experience with Hello Renault

Renault is also embracing digital innovation alongside physical design. Through the hello reno app, users will be able to explore the show car in augmented reality during the tournament.

This feature allows fans to place the vehicle virtually in their own surroundings, view it in different colours, and examine both interior and exterior details from every angle. It offers a deeper connection to the car, even for those who cannot attend the event in person.

Production Model Arriving in Autumn 2026

While the show car is a concept, Renault has confirmed that a production version of the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric will arrive in autumn 2026. This makes it more than just a design exercise. It is a clear preview of what buyers can expect in the near future.

The revival of the Renault 4 continues the brand’s strategy of reimagining classic models for the electric era. Much like the Renault 5 E-Tech electric, it combines nostalgic appeal with modern technology and efficiency.

Renault’s Strong Presence at Roland-Garros

The Renault 4 show car is not the only highlight at this year’s tournament. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric also appears in a special Roland-Garros edition, offering up to 252 miles of WLTP range thanks to its 52 kWh battery.

Meanwhile, the Renault Twingo E-Tech electric is making its debut at the event, signalling Renault’s push to bring electric mobility into the mainstream A-segment.

Renault’s role extends beyond display vehicles. As the official transport provider, the company is supporting the tournament with an 88% electrified fleet. Key models include the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric, Renault Rafale hyper hybrid E-Tech 4×4, and Renault Espace full hybrid E-Tech.

In addition, Renault continues to trial autonomous electric shuttles in partnership with WeRide, transporting spectators between key locations around the venue.

A Stylish Glimpse into the Future

The Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car is more than a tribute to tennis. It represents a thoughtful fusion of design, sustainability, and innovation.

From its clay-inspired accents to its recycled interior materials and immersive digital experience, every detail has been crafted to reflect both the spirit of Roland-Garros and the future direction of Renault.

With the production version arriving later in 2026, this show car offers an exciting glimpse of what lies ahead for one of Renault’s most beloved models.
