All-New Nissan Micra Comes with EV Grant

Nissan has just unveiled the sixth-generation Micra, and it’s turning heads – not only for its sleek design but also because it’s now fully electric. Launched on 21 May 2025, the latest Micra blends style, connectivity, and efficiency in a compact package that’s perfect for modern city driving. Whether you’re an experienced EV driver or just making the switch, the new Micra is designed to make electric driving accessible, convenient, and fun.

Pricing That Makes EV Driving Accessible

One of the standout aspects of the All-New Micra is its pricing. Nissan has positioned it competitively within the B-segment, meaning you don’t have to break the bank to own a fully electric car. The pricing structure is as follows:

Engage 40kWh – £22,995

Advance 40kWh / 52kWh – £24,995 / £26,995

Evolve 52kWh – £29,865

To make it even more appealing, the Micra is expected to qualify for the £1,500 UK government Electric Car Grant (subject to confirmation from the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles). This means that starting your electric journey could be more affordable than you might expect.

Extended Range for Everyday Driving

Early tests show that the Micra offers a greater driving range than initially announced, giving drivers confidence on longer trips. The 40kWh battery now reaches 198 miles, while the 52kWh battery offers 260 miles. That’s an increase of 6 and 7 miles respectively compared to initial figures, achieved without any major changes to the car’s components.

As Clíodhna Lyons, Vice President of Product and Service Strategy and Planning at Nissan AMIEO, explains:

“The new Micra’s extended driving range is the result of focused engineering. By improving aerodynamic efficiency, we’ve gained range and value where it matters most to everyday EV drivers.”

This efficiency is partly thanks to the Micra’s sleek, aerodynamic design. The bold, assertive styling pays homage to previous generations of this iconic city car, which has sold over six million units worldwide since its launch in 1983. Signature design elements, like the original “gelato scoop” – a sculpted line from front to rear reminiscent of a spoon mark in ice cream – give the Micra a distinctive personality while also reducing drag and improving energy efficiency.

Trim Levels: Features, Price, and What You Get

To suit a wide range of drivers, the new Micra is offered in three trims: Engage, Advance, and Evolve.

Engage (40kWh) – £22,995

The entry-level Engage trim is ideal for city driving and first-time EV owners. It comes with 18” structured wheels, a 10.1” infotainment screen, 7” TFT driver display, and full NissanConnect Services app compatibility. Comfort features like auto air conditioning and a heat pump are standard, helping maintain cabin temperature efficiently while protecting battery performance.

Advance (40kWh / 52kWh) – £24,995 / £26,995

The Advance trim adds more connectivity and comfort, making it a versatile choice for daily driving. Highlights include 18” Iconic alloy wheels, Google Built-in navigation, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, wireless phone charging, and ambient lighting. Front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and Multisense drive modes also enhance convenience and driving enjoyment.

Evolve (52kWh) – £29,865

The top-tier Evolve trim delivers a premium experience. It features Harman/Kardon® premium sound, ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link, heated front seats and steering wheel, two-tone paint options, and 18” Sport alloy wheels. The Evolve is for drivers who want every comfort and cutting-edge technology that Nissan has to offer in a compact EV.

Optional extras, such as 18” Sport alloy wheels, Cold Pack (heated seats and steering wheel), Hands-Free Parking, and a Chill interior with synthetic leather, allow buyers to personalise their Micra even further.

Charging Made Simple and Efficient

The new Micra makes charging hassle-free. The 52kWh battery supports 100kW DC fast charging, while the 40kWh model charges at 80kW. Both can reach 15%-80% charge in just 30 minutes. A standard heat pump and battery heating/cooling system optimise charging efficiency, even in cold weather.

The NissanConnect Services app allows drivers to manage charging remotely, check charge levels, monitor vehicle location, schedule charging sessions, and even pre-condition the cabin temperature. This means the car is ready to drive whenever you are, whether for a short commute or a longer journey.

Connected, Intelligent, and Ready for the Future

The new Micra is designed to integrate seamlessly into daily life. Google Built-in services, including Google Maps, enable smart route planning. If your journey exceeds the available range, the system identifies charging stations along the route, factoring in battery level, temperature, and energy consumption. It can even precondition the battery to ensure the fastest possible charging.

Driving is made easier with ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link on the Evolve trim, e-Pedal with paddle shifts, and Multisense drive modes that allow drivers to customise their driving experience.

Ready to Order

The All-New Nissan Micra order bank opened on 1 September 2025, so city drivers, first-time EV owners, and EV enthusiasts alike can reserve their car soon.

As James Taylor, Managing Director of Nissan GB, puts it:

“Micra is a key strategic model for Nissan, and based on the positive reviews, exciting design, attractive price and a class-leading product, I am looking forward to seeing lots of new Micras on the road soon.”

With its stylish design, competitive pricing, excellent range, and class-leading features, the All-New Nissan Micra is shaping up to be a must-have city car for 2025 and beyond.
