Hyundai Motor has revealed the latest iteration of the Hyundai Bayon, featuring a daring and sturdy design. The array of smart connectivity and safety features that distinguish it in the B-SUV category has been enhanced with upgrades to its interior and technology.

Durable New Aesthetic

The new Bayon highlights a sleek and identifiable design, tailored specifically for the European market as a crossover SUV. A seamlessly integrated LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) bar at the front forms a cohesive Horizon light signature. The front bumper and radiator grille have undergone improvements to achieve a more robust and adventurous look. The rear has a revamped bumper, complemented by newly designed 16- and 17-inch wheels.

The Bayon has earned acclaim for its stylish and cool design, setting it apart from the crowd with its striking proportions and bold graphic features. The front grille, now opening at the bottom, establishes a solid presence. A dynamic shoulder on the side creates a wedge-shaped appearance, while arrow-shaped lights at the rear emphasise the pillar dynamics, contributing to a broad stance. Angular lines, triangular shapes, and horizontal lines in both the vehicle body and light architecture highlight its width, giving the Bayon a powerful and contemporary look.

There are a total of nine exterior colour options, including four new additions: Lumen Grey Pearl, Meta Blue Pearl, Lucid Lime Metallic, and Vibrant Blue Pearl. Additionally, customers can opt for a Phantom Black two-tone roof, which pairs well with various exterior colours.

Innovative Connectivity and Technology

In adherence to Hyundai’s customer-focused approach, the new Bayon introduces advanced connectivity technology. The sophisticated digital cockpit and premium infotainment features have been elevated further with the addition of Over-the-Air (OTA) map updates.

Customers can now enjoy a standard 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster along with a separate 10.25-inch Audio Visual Navigation Screen (AVN). The New Bayon retains popular features from the previous version, such as the optional 10.25-inch configurable digital cluster with varied graphics based on the drive mode, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless charging, and the latest Bluelink® telematics update.

Convenience is enhanced with two USB-C ports—one in the front and one in the rear—allowing simultaneous charging of the latest tech devices. The front USB-A port facilitates data transfer, enabling occupants to connect their phones to the vehicle’s infotainment system. A premium Bose sound system, comprising eight speakers, including a subwoofer, completes the package, promising occupants a top-tier listening experience.

Improved Interior Lights

The New Bayon displays a spacious, well-lit interior, prioritising optimal comfort for both front and rear passengers, alongside a generously sized boot space. The updated model has transitioned from traditional lightbulbs to LED technology, enhancing in-car visibility through optional LED Room/Map and Sun visor lamps. Additionally, passengers can personalise their driving environment with the availability of multicolour front ambient lighting technology, allowing them to adjust the interior lighting to suit their mood.

Modern Safety Features

Hyundai Bayon Interior 2024

The New Bayon, as the smallest member of Hyundai’s SUV family, distinguishes itself from competitors with a range of semi-autonomous driving features. Lane Following Assist (LFA) ensures the vehicle stays centred in its lane, while Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) provides an alarm and, if necessary, applies brakes to prevent collisions, covering detection of cars, pedestrians, cyclists, and Junction Turning. Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) autonomously adjusts speed using data from the vehicle’s navigation system on motorways or town roads.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) uses sensors around the car to monitor corners, triggering a visual alert on the exterior mirrors if another vehicle is detected. BCA intervenes with the differential brake as needed to avoid or minimise collision impact. Bayon also incorporates features that subtly redirect the driver’s attention, including Driver Attention Warning (DAW), which analyses driving patterns to detect drowsiness or distraction. Working in tandem is Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), notifying the driver when the vehicle ahead begins moving.

The second-generation eCall in Bayon operates on the 4G network, automatically notifying emergency services if the vehicle’s airbags deploy in an accident. Alternatively, occupants can activate this feature with a simple button press.
