Do you offer car finance without a licence?

Do you offer car finance without a licence?

Answer from the Stoneacre finance team:

Hi Leona, thanks for your question.

Yes, there are a small number of lenders who are prepared to provide car finance without a licence, and the good news is we have some of these on our panel of approved lenders. Most lenders will ask for proof of a driving licence once an application has been accepted and before paperwork can be signed.

We understand that in some cases an adverse credit history may put the licence holding driver off making the application themselves, but it's worth baring in mind that we have helped many people in this situation to obtain car finance.

May I ask who will be driving the car? If it's a partner, could they not apply for the finance in their own name?

Another option would be to make a joint application for finance. In order to gain an acceptance for car finance with no licence you would have to have a pretty good credit rating. This type of arrangement is usually seen as a higher risk because the individual who legally holds the financial commitment won't be driving the car.

Please make an application via our website and a member of our team will contact you to discuss your options in more detail, there's no credit check and no obligation to accept any offer that we make.

Do you offer car finance for a LTD company if the finance holder does not have a driving licence?

I have no driving licence and I want to finance a car through my Ltd Company and nominate a driver with a full licence. This will be a work vehicle and I'm on good steady salary, credit not great.

Can I get finance with a Provisional licence and poor credit?

I was wondering if you accept someone with a provisional licence and poor credit?

Sheriece Dennis

Answer from the Stoneacre finance team:

We have a couple of lenders that will look at customers applications with provisional licences but unfortunately they are not our lenders that specialise in poor credit. They look at customers with good to fair credit. Don't let that put you off though as you may be surprised, we find a lot of customers think their credit is worse than what it actually is. What we can do is use our soft search to see if you are eligible to be sent to the provisional licence lenders and if for any reason you are not eligible then your credit wouldn't have been affected by looking.

Can my partner apply for finance without a licence?

Hi, I currently have car finance which I'm due to VT very soon when I hit my 2 year mark. This is only due to the car being undriveable now. My partner is on good wages but doesn't have good credit. He doesn't have a driving licence. Can he apply for car finance for me?

Answer from the Stoneacre finance team:

Hi Sarah, We do have lenders that are able to do what we would call a 3rd party deal, where they get the car on finance for you. Typically these lenders do look for the person to have a good credit history. With you saying your partner doesn't have a good credit rating, this could cause us to struggle. It could be that we are able to look at a joint application in both names?
