What does the Code 3 error message mean on my Vauxhall Insignia?

I keep seeing a Code 3 message on my Vauxhall Insignia's display. I've checked my coolant levels and everything seems alright, but I keep getting the message.

Could you tell me what the Code 3 error message means and what I should do?

Hi Amanda,

The Code 3 message on your Vauxhall Insignia does indeed relate to an issue with the coolant and a possible leak that may be caused by some cracked housing around the EGR valve.

Vauxhall did release a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) some time ago that addressed this known issue. Rather than having to replace the EGR, the TSB repair kit allows the housing to be repaired - at a much smaller cost.

If you're seeing the Code 3 message, you need to book your car into your local garage as soon as possible as the coolant system is pressurised and should not be leaking.
