One area which\nhas evolved over the years alongside YouTube\u2019s influx of output is automotive,\nwith an almost infinite selection of channels and personalities to choose from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Certainly a strength to this amount of choice is that, regardless of your views on cars, there is content for all \u2013 whether you want to see the latest supercars cruising through the capital, getting an in-depth look at some classics, or just simply gathering information about a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stoneacre.co.uk\/new-cars\">potential next car<\/a><\/strong>, it\u2019s all there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As such, we\u2019ve collated a slim but focused list featuring\nsome of the best car YouTube channels, from long-standing favourites to those a\nlittle newer to the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YouTube Car Reviews<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Possibly the most popular side of cars on YouTube is car\nreviews \u2013 sticking with the one of the original purposes of the platform,\nYouTube is still one of the key areas to soak up information as a consumer on\nany vehicle of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would be hard to discuss such a corner of YouTube without mentioning the unprecedented rise of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/carwow\/videos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"carwow channel (opens in a new tab)\">carwow channel<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"New Fiat 500 Electric review - better than the Honda e?\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tpOSwBjgj74?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Standing tall with a whopping 5.6 million subscribers as of\nwriting, carwow came racing out of the blocks with their YouTube channel, with\ntheir success down to both the gregarious nature of host Matt Watson and the\nteam\u2019s content strategy that lends itself so well to the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The carwow channel splices thorough car reviews with more\nbitesize content such as drag races between all your favourite sports cars, hot\nhatches and whatever else that might be on the menu (cargo truck drag race,\nanyone?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sitting a bit more on the traditional side of car reviews, you\u2019ll find the likes of the self-proclaiming \u2018world\u2019s oldest car magazine\u2019, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/autocar\/videos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Autocar (opens in a new tab)\">Autocar<\/a><\/strong>, with numerous videos that delve into the ins and outs of the latest and greatest. Here you\u2019ll find vehicles that suit a broader range of budgets for buyers to explore options for their next car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Car YouTube experts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most content on YouTube would have you believe it\u2019s a\nplatform for the youth of today to impart their wisdom on the world. Based out of Burbank, California, Jay\u2019s garage is home to almost 300 vehicles and counting (cars &amp; motorbikes), and combines videos on both his own private collection and those brought in by manufacturers and other feverish collectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jay\u2019s knowledge on pretty much any vehicle \u2013 modern or\nclassic \u2013 is pretty much unparalleled, and it\u2019s very likely you\u2019ll see plenty\nof vehicles on his videos that you never knew existed \u2013 and he\u2019s happy to tell\nyou absolutely every detail about them whilst out on the Californian highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Closer to home is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/Harrysgarage\/videos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Harry Metcalf<\/a><\/strong>, founder of iconic UK motoring magazine EVO. While Harry\u2019s personal collection admittedly doesn\u2019t make much of a dent on Jay\u2019s, he\u2019s still a man with a mountain of knowledge on both cars and bikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Toyota GR Yaris Circuit Pack real world review. Like Jay, Harry will borrow cars from manufacturers and\ncollectors alike, or even use his auction connections to grab some real gems of\nthe automotive world to blast through the Cotswolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The \u2018YouTubers\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While most we\u2019ve mentioned up until now had car YouTube\nchannels born out of a previous endeavour \u2013 be it an established automotive\npublication or just being known for having a literal shed-load of cars \u2013 but\nsome channels cut their teeth on the platform straight from the off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The automotive space is probably one of the key areas where\nthe term \u2018YouTuber\u2019 originated, with a huge influx of people trying to carve a\ncareer out of what is essentially a social media platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One such individual that attempted \u2013 and succeeded \u2013 at this was Sam Fane, or you might know him better as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/seenthroughglass\/videos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Seen Through Glass (opens in a new tab)\">Seen Through Glass<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LA To Miami! 12,000 miles Across America [#DriveTheWorld 4\/4]\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IXWsh9XGJAE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As someone who doesn\u2019t tend to subscribe to the whole\ndriving-big-expensive-cars-round-London thing, it\u2019s refreshing to see someone\nbreak out of that scene and become quite expansive in their work. The STG\nchannel certainly has its fair share of exotica, as we follow Sam around in any\nnumber of Ferraris, McLaren and Porsches, but we see these in a multitude of\nlocations and in much more appropriate environments for them to stretch their\nlegs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We even get a look at Sam\u2019s jet set lifestyle to add to the\naspirational nature of the channel, as well see Sam rub shoulders with motorsport\nstars such as Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a more collaborative effort, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/XCARFilms\/videos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Carfection (opens in a new tab)\">Carfection<\/a><\/strong> team combines journalistic prowess with slick production, making for some top automotive YouTube content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the likes of surely the tallest of motoring\njournalists, Henry Catchpole, leading the charge, Carfection offers\ncomprehensive videos on anything worth talking about in the performance car\nspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"McLaren F1, Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes CLK GTR: The ULTIMATE Group Test Part 1 | Carfection 4K\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AIqANh0vraU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Their ability to gather three of the world\u2019s greatest and\nrarest cars in the forms of the McLaren F1, Porsche 911 GT1 and Mercedes CLK\nGTR is a testament to what Carfection looks out to achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, his name is fairly well known to many as one of the\nblokes from Top Gear, but prior to joining the BBC\u2019s popular motoring show, Chris\nHarris was also a name to be reckoned with among automotive YouTube personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/ChrisHarrisonCars\/videos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Chris Harris on Cars (opens in a new tab)\">Chris Harris on Cars<\/a><\/strong> to this day stands as one of the most celebrated automotive YouTube channels. Chris\u2019s affable \u2018car guy\u2019 personality combined with the genius of film maker Neil Carey, the duo enjoyed a successful few years on YouTube before Chris turned his attention to Top Gear (with Neil tagging along for the ride), and resulted in some of the most enjoyable content for enthusiasts there is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Chris Harris on Cars | LaFerrari v Porsche 918 v McLaren P1 at Portimao | The Holy Trinity\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/q3YPTkBRaOk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Like Carfection, Chris\u2019s shear passion (and contact list)\nhelped towards such moments as getting the fabled \u2018Holy Trinity\u2019 together,\ncomprising of the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari together\non track \u2013 and being the first in the world (probably) to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite Chris Harris on Cars now residing as a Top Gear feature, the original channel remains one of the best resources for top end, motoring content on YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>These are just a small selection of what&#8217;s out there on automotive YouTube land, but a varied selection for those of us that engross ourselves with such content &#8211; anything not on here that you should be?
