Let’s be honest, every trip to the petrol station lately has felt a little painful, hasn’t it? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With fuel prices staying stubbornly high, we wanted to find out how drivers across the UK coped over the Bank Holiday weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You shared your thoughts, and the results are genuinely fascinating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuel Prices are on The Rise<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Of course, it’s no secret that the global fuel market has been on a bit of a rollercoaster lately. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has kept oil prices under real pressure, and that’s been feeding directly into what we all pay at the pump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But rather than just watching the numbers tick up, it seems like drivers up and down the country are starting to think a little differently about how they get around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s what you had to say!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of You Still Had a Brilliant Bank Holiday<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We were a little worried that sky-high fuel prices might have put a dampener on everyone’s plans, but you proved us wrong in the best possible way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

79% of drivers said their Bank Holiday plans went ahead completely unchanged.<\/strong> You weren’t going to let a bit of pump pain get in the way of a good weekend, and good on you!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Of course, it wasn’t quite plain sailing for everyone – 12% of you made a few tweaks to your plans, and 9% said they had to cancel altogether, which is a real shame. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the lovely thing is that the vast majority of you found a way to make it work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether that was sharing the driving, picking somewhere a little closer to home, or just cracking on regardless.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brilliant British spirit of making the most of a long weekend is very much alive and kicking!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petrol Drivers Are Feeling It More Than Diesel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here’s one that might raise an eyebrow or two! We all tend to assume it’s diesel drivers who feel the financial squeeze most, but your answers told a very different story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

42% of petrol drivers said rising costs have changed how often they fill up, compared to just 17% of diesel drivers. Who’d have thought it?!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It turns out petrol drivers are adjusting their fuelling habits more than their diesel counterparts! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether that’s waiting until the tank is running really low before filling up, hunting out the cheapest forecourt nearby, or simply making fewer trips. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petrol drivers are clearly feeling the pinch day to day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It probably comes down to the types of journeys people tend to make. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diesel drivers often depend on their car for longer commutes or work, so they don’t always have as much flexibility to change things up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petrol drivers may have a little more wiggle room to adapt. Either way, it completely flips the usual assumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost 50% of You Are Already Thinking Electric<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is the finding that really got us excited. When we asked whether rising fuel prices had made you think about switching to an electric vehicle, the results were genuinely encouraging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

43% of drivers who took part are either already behind the wheel of an EV, or are now seriously thinking about making the switch.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It was interesting to see that 29% of you said that rising fuel prices have got you thinking about going electric – and on top of that, 14% of you are already EV drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Put those two together and nearly half of everyone who voted is either already on board or actively considering it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not that long ago, EVs felt like something for the distant future, but there\u2019s certainly more than just curiosity at this stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And honestly, it’s easy to see why: charging at home costs a fraction of a full tank; the public charging network is growing all the time; and there’s a wider choice of brilliant EVs available than ever before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What your responses are telling us is that there’s a genuine shift happening in the way people think about their cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
