Keen to ensure that the i10 appeals to a broader market, the new Hyundai i10 has undergone a dynamic exterior overhaul. The roofline has been lowered by 20mm, and the rear wheel arches made 20mm wider, to give it a sportier squat stance.
The wheelbase meanwhile, has been increased by 40mm to improve on-board capacity. It is available as both a four and five-seater so has the versatility for a range of needs, plus the 252-litre boot capacity is one of the best in its segment.
Smart daytime running lights sit neatly within the grille of the car, which features a refined honeycomb structure inside, to continue the i10’s heritage. Plus in a first for Hyundai, the i10 will be available with the option of 16” alloys is a first and enhances the overall look of the vehicle.
Inside the new Hyundai i10
On the inside, a host of technology from larger Hyundai models has been fed down to create a more enhanced on-board ambience. With the option of an eight-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a wireless smartphone charging station, you can always stay connected on the go.
On top of that, the new i10 features Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car platform with app-controlled location tracking, live fuel prices and the ability to send navigation directions from a smartphone to the car.
While functions like a rear-view camera add extra practicality when traversing and parking in busy city streets.
Incorporating Hyundai SmartSense active safety and driving assistance features ensures the new Hyundai i10 complies with the highest European safety standards. With comprehensive safety equipment not often found on small-segment cars, like automatic emergency braking and lane departure assistance, you can relax in the knowledge that your journeys are safer.
Under the bonnet has been finely tuned to offer an even more dynamic driving experience. It is available with either a 66bhp one-litre three-cylinder engine or an 83bhp 1.2-litre four-cylinder. Both of which are available with a five-speed manual or a five-speed automated manual transmission which delivers better fuel economy than a traditional automatic gearbox as it is lighter and reduces friction. While a more progressive brake pedal and more responsive steering increase the agility of the i10 in and around town.
Idle Stop and Go (ISG) is also standard on both powertrains and helps to lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while increasing efficiency. Plus for those concerned about doing their bit for the environment can spec the Hyundai i10 with an Eco Pack, which offers an adjusted gear ratio and 14” wheels for even greater efficiency.
