Kia was recently honoured with four awards at the DrivingElectric Awards 2023. The automaker was recognised for its advancements in electric vehicle technology, and its commitment to sustainable transportation. Kia has been a leader in the electric vehicle market, and this latest recognition is a testament to its dedication to innovation and sustainability.

The DrivingElectric Awards 2023 is a prestigious annual award recognising innovation and efficiency in the electric vehicle industry. The awards are presented to companies and individuals who have demonstrated commitment to sustainability and those who have developed groundbreaking technologies to advance electric vehicle technology. Each category winner is decided by the publication’s judging panel, considering factors such as overall value for money, performance, and practicality.

Kia was honoured this year with four of their models receiving accolades. The EV6 GT is continuing Kia’s tradition of excellence in electrification, being appropriately named ‘Best Electric Performance Car’. Moreover, the all-new Sportage PHEV and Niro have earned prestigious awards for their cutting-edge hybrid technology – they were honoured as ‘Best Plug-in Hybrid Family Car’ and ‘Best Hybrid Family Car’ respectively.

Kia EV6 GT Win

Richard Ingram, Editor of DrivingElectric commented on the EV6 GT’s award win: “In a category previously dominated by supercar-slaying German brands, the Kia EV6 GT challenges the status quo and shows its rivals a clean set of heels. The scintillating straight-line performance is only part of the package; the GT is an incredibly capable all-rounder.”

Kia’s revolutionary EV6 GT stunned festival-goers at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed with its incredible power and acceleration. With 577 bhp, this fully electric vehicle breaks previous standards in performance from Kia, affirming their commitment to innovation in mobility. Its breathtaking design left onlookers speechless as it made history on the famous hill climb!

Kia Sportage 2023

The Kia EV6 GT is a revolutionary electric vehicle that has pushed the boundaries of performance. It boasts an impressive 577 bhp, giving it incredible acceleration and power while also offering drivers remarkable efficiency. With its cutting-edge hybrid technology, this fully electric vehicle can deliver an exhilarating driving experience as well as superior practicality.

Additional Wins for Kia

However, it’s not just the EV6 GT that impressed judges at the 2023 DrivingElectric Awards, with the all-new Sportage PHEV and all-new Niro adding to their resumé of prestigious awards.

The Kia Niro, for example, offers a range of up to 239 miles on a single charge and features an intuitive infotainment system. On the other hand, the all-new Sportage PHEV boasts a plug-in hybrid engine and is capable of short trips in all-electric mode and longer journeys with its petrol engine.

Richard Ingram commented: “Plug-in hybrids are growing in popularity, and if you want a car with a usable range, plenty of kit, and space for the whole family, then little comes close to the new Kia Sportage.

“DrivingElectric sister site Carbuyer.co.uk voted the all-new Kia Niro as its overall Car of the Year only a few months ago, and it goes on to triumph here as well. Spacious, super-efficient and good to drive, there’s no finer hybrid family car currently on sale.”

Kia is setting a high bar for itself with its ambition to launch 14 electric vehicles by 2027 – and that’s only the start! Their award-winning models have surpassed expectations, including their previous generation Niro which was named ‘Best Used Hybrid Car’. Ingram said: “New or used, the Kia Niro is a great all-rounder. Those on a budget shouldn’t feel short-changed either; the previous-generation Niro represents great value for money, and could dramatically slash your running costs.”

It’s evident that Kia is a leader in the electric vehicle market, and its latest recognition at the DrivingElectric Awards 2023 further proves this. The automaker’s commitment to sustainability and innovation has enabled it to create some of the most advanced vehicles on the road today. With each new model, Kia continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of electric vehicles – and it shows no signs of slowing down!
