Finally, a major car show to go ahead since the pandemic began!
The Munich Motor Show is set to roll out between the 7th-12th September 2021, replacing the traditional Frankfurt Motor Show, and will showcase some of the newest cars to come from many of the world’s leading car manufacturers.
Ahead of the event’s start date, Dacia publically revealed the all-new Jogger at the Munich Motor Show, which will be available in the UK from early Spring 2022 and available for presale in November this year.
The new Dacia Jogger will be the brand’s first budget-focused hybrid-estate-SUV-people-carrier model on the roads, but what exactly will it bring to the table?
First of all, the all-new Jogger combines an “estate car practicality, MPV spaciousness and SUV style”, but will only be available in front-wheel drive. This is due to Dacia wanting to keep the Duster as the sole SUV in their range, despite the Jogger’s contradicting sporty design, scuff plates and adjustable roof bars which can hold up to 80kg.
The seven-seat family car has been developed using the same CMF-B platform as its siblings the Sandero and Sandero Stepway, yet is notably bigger (4547mm long) to accommodate the extra passenger seats at the rear – one of Dacia’s biggest models.
It will be released with three trim levels: Essential, Comfort and the limited edition Extreme grade, which will feature more off-road styling, such as extra black body cladding around the wheel arches and bumpers.
Dacia also engineered a 40mm step-up from the B-pillar backwards to give additional height and width to the rear cabin for the passengers up in the third row.
Meanwhile, all three rows have flexible seats, in which the second row is a 60:40 split-bench with the ability to be configured into 60 different layouts.

Another element that improves usability in the Jogger are the folding picnic tables set behind the front seats. These slide up to 70mm, giving the second-row passengers the ability to balance items or watch tablets during a journey.
In terms of the Joggers boot space, when all seven seats are in place you will get 213 litres, rising to 712 litres in five-seat mode. The maximum carrying capacity is 1,819 litres, but this is only available by removing the rearmost seats (an easy job, considering the third-row chairs only weighing 10kg) and folding the second row down.
Furthermore, three systems are offered for the multimedia interface: Media Control, which includes a smartphone holder and docking station; Media Display, which adds an eight-inch touchscreen and four speakers; and Media Navigation, incorporating wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, sat-nav and six speakers.
Potential in the Powertrains and Engines:
Taking inspiration from the parent firm Renault, the Jogger’s platform will be available with three engines – one of which shocked us all!
Looking at the first and probably most popular choice for sales is a 1.0-litre turbo triple. This engine produces 108bhp and up to 90% of its maximum 148lb ft from 1700rpm, combined with a six-speed transmission.
The second engine available in the Dacia Jogger is the 99bhp LPG, using the same Bi-Fuel engine that appears in the Sandero.
And finally, in 2023 the hybrid version will be released – a huge first for the Romanian car manufacturers. Offering a 1.6-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a multi-mode automatic gearbox, this will be coupled alongside a 1.2kWh battery to assist with short distance electric-only journeys.
However, Dacia has not confirmed any further information regarding the 0-62mph times nor fuel economy figures – something we will be keeping an eye out for.
There we have it. The Dacia Jogger is a new, exciting hybrid of a car that we never thought we needed until now. Is this the future, blending up cars to make a ‘Frankenstein-Car’? We will see!
