Unveiled today is Ford’s all-new Focus. The relaunch of the brand new Ford Focus has been designed to coincide with its 20th year on the road.
Since launch the Focus has enjoyed prodigious popularity as a family hatch and with updated technology, refreshed styling and improved functionality the latest Focus is set to deliver beyond expectations.
Designed from scratch the all-new Ford Focus has a lowered body which gives it a more sporty athletic appearance. It’s wider too, creating more space in the cabin for both passengers and luggage. Style-wise you’ll notice crisp angular lines feature all over the car. However it’s the rear end where the changes are most dramatic, with just one line stretching from the bumper to the boot giving a dynamic appearance. What’s more the Focus badge has been replaced with chic chrome letters to create a more premium look.
Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 system ensures the new Focus offers more advanced on-board technology than most other mid-sized family cars.
- The Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go enables you to set a speed to follow the car in front at a safe distance, the car will then automatically slow-down or accelerate as required without any input from you.
- Lane-Centring technology gives you lane guidance and will gently steer the car into the centre of its lane should it begin to stray.
- Sign Recognition technology takes note of speed limits and helps to keep you within legal limits. It also takes note of upcoming junctions and roundabouts to work in conjunction with the updated LED lighting technology to dim headlights automatically as you approach a junction or roundabout.
The new Ford Focus makes life easier and less stressful with a host of technology designed to make your daily commute more comfortable. The new Ford Focus hands-free parking has been improved and updated, allowing the car to take full control and operate the gears, accelerator, brakes and steering to park up at the touch of the button. This must-have function makes parallel parking anxiety a thing of the past.
The impressive fighter jet like head-up display projects vital information like speed onto the lower windscreen meaning you don’t need to take your eyes off the road ahead. Ford claim the technology is so good it is still fully visible when you’re wearing polarised lenses.
Intelligent suspension systems can detect potholes and undulations in the road and adapt to ensure you get the smoothest drive possible.
Other available features include Evasive Steering Assist, Blind Spot monitoring with Cross Traffic Alert and Wrong Way Alert, Ford MyKey, inflatable seatbelts and Post-Collision braking.
Staying connected whilst on the move has never been easier. The new Focus features FordPass Connect which will turn the car into a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 10 devices; more than enough for you and all of your passengers. The wireless charging pad makes charging your devices hassle-free and ensures that a tangle of wires are a thing of the past. The impressive B&O PLAY sound system offers a fantastic audio experience.
You’ll no longer need to worry about whether you’ve locked your car or whether you need to call at the pump to fill up in the morning. With the FordPass app you can access multiple functions on your car remotely, so you can lock and unlock your car, check your fuel level or even defrost your car on frosty mornings whilst still tucked up in bed!
The new Ford Focus will be available as a hatchback or estate with a variety of different trim levels and engine options, so there really is something to suit every requirement and budget. There will even be a range of specialist models like a stylish Vignale edition, a performance-inspired Focus ST-Line and the first ever Focus Active, which will feature rugged styling and a SUV inspired high drive position.
If the all-new Ford Focus sounds like the perfect car then why not register your interest to be the first to hear when it lands in our showroom.
