At number 2 is the ever trusty…
As one of Britain’s most popular family cars it’s no surprise that the Ford Focus is our second most popular used model. Having graced our roads since its launch in 1998 the Focus is a perennial top seller in the UK. Since its launch Ford has remodelled the car ensuring both interior, exterior and on board equipment continue to match the changing trends within the car market.
Ford have built a strong reputation for cars that are reliable, offer great value for money and drive fantastically. With enduring appeal Ford cars frequently top the list of bestselling cars which is great news when you’re looking for a used vehicle. You’ll find a multitude of used Ford Focus cars available, so finding one to suit your requirements and budget shouldn’t be a problem.
Search Used Ford Focus
The Ford Focus will comfortably seats 4 adults with roomy rear seats. At 316L the boot isn’t the biggest in its sector, but the shape means there’s plenty of useable space. What’s more the rear seats fold completely flat meaning you can extend useful load space considerably.
There are a host of trim levels available including the Edge, Zetec, Zetec Navigator, Zetec S, Titanium and Titanium X Navigator (ordered from entry level to top of the range) so you can find something to suit your every need. There are even 2 sports models on offer, the ST and RS. The ST has a racier bodykit, deep front grille and has enhanced handling and performance. Whereas the RS has exhilarating performance level speed with 4-wheel drive and intuitive electronics to stabilise the car.
Most modern Focus models come with a host of features as standard to ensure that they continue to offer great value for money in a competitive sector. Standard features include Electronic Stability Programme, air-conditioning, electric front windows, Ford MyKey system and a space saver spare wheel. Opt for a Zetec trim and you’ll also get alloy wheels, heated screen and mirrors and an 8” touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Whilst Titanium models get automatic lights and wipers, dual-zone climate control and a multi-media system.
Used Ford Focus models are available with a wide-variety of different petrol and diesel engines. The younger the used Ford model you can afford the better the engine and its performance. Overall we would recommend the petrol’s, as they are punchy to drive and offer above average mpg capabilities. However if you’re regularly covering high mileage a diesel engine might be worth the extra additional expense. If you do opt for a diesel engine you need to consider that the diesel particulate filters can become blocked if you don’t travel far enough for the engine to heat up sufficiently to self-clean.
Servicing is required every 12,500 miles or every 12 months whichever comes first. Most Ford engines utilise a cam belt so this will need changing approximately every 100,000-150,500 miles or 8-10 years. Whilst brake fluid needs changing around every 2 years. The good news is due to Ford’s popularity Ford parts are relatively easy and cheap to get hold of and offer great value for money.
At Stoneacre we aim to make buying a used car hassle-free. That’s why as standard we carry out a full HPI check and an extensive check of the cars roadworthiness before we offer it for sale. We also offer a great range of finance options like 0% finance or nil deposit deals to make buying a used Ford Focus more affordable.
However if you don’t see a used model that’s right for you, why not contact us and find out what current offers are available on new Focus models. With a great range of offers always available there’s sure to be something suitable for you.
If you don’t think a used Ford Focus offers you everything you’re looking for then why not take a look at some of its rivals. The Volkswagen Golf is regularly hailed a leader in its class by car experts however it’s a little pricier to buy than a used Ford Focus. A used Vauxhall Astra is similarly priced to a used Ford Focus and offers similar space and equipment. Whilst for a roomier interior and more generous equipment levels it might be worth exploring the SEAT Leon.
