The new series of Top Gear is set to return to our screens on Sunday 25th February at 8pm on BBC2. It will be the 25th series of one our favourite shows. So what’s in store…
Well we’re glad to see the cast has remained the same since last year so for the third year running we’ll see the return of Matt LeBlanc, Rory Reid and Chris Harris. Whilst the first series post Clarkson, Hammond and May struggled to find it feet the last series saw the trio of presenters carve out their own place within such an established show. So we can’t wait to see how this develops in Top Gear 2018.
Matt Le Blanc has already said that this series aims to broaden the demographics of the show and open it up more to the non-petrol heads but stated it still retains its essence as it remains centred around cars.
They’re set to review some of the latest cars rumoured to include the BMW M5, McLaren 720S and the Lexus LC (we’re definitely not jealous) so there is sure to be plenty of raw horsepower on offer. Staying true to Top Gear colours they’ll also be racing around in the more affordable Alfa Stelvio SUV, the Kia Stinger and the Honda Civic Type R.
As usual you’ll see the presenters travel to a host of locations this year said to include Japan, USA, Portugal, Italy and of course Guildford (where the majority of filming takes place).
If you were worried that the above all sounds a little too, well normal for Top Gear never fear – I mean just watch the trailer. There’ll be the almost compulsory whacky antics involving bikes, horseboxes, building the worlds ‘fastest tractor’ and you may notice that Chris Harris takes a rather hair-raising flight in a car!
With less than a week to go until the new Top Gear series hits our screens there’s still time to catch up on your favourite past episodes to get you in the mood.
Oh and that trailer…
