Highlighted as a dealership with vast untapped potential, Stoneacre has invested £1.1m in a complete rebuild of its Kingsley Road Volvo showroom which it acquired from John Dark little over 18 months ago.
The official opening followed nine months of preparation and saw the Volvo P1800 driven by Simon Templer in The Saint on display amid a classy champagne reception which culminated in an impressive fireworks display. The event was attended by around 100 customers along with senior executives from Stoneacre, Volvo and the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce. Local and national press also attended.
With sales on an upward trend the dealership has already taken on an extra 20 staff which brings the current tally to 31, a figure likely to increase further in order to meet the growing demand for the Volvo brand in Lincoln.
Speaking at the opening Steven Morris Dealer Principal of Stoneacre Volvo in Lincoln, said: “Volvo is an emerging brand for commercial and retail customers. The investment will allow us to present the brand and provide an enhanced experience for our customers.
“We have a very strong product line, which includes a new range of low Co2 engines starting at 88g/km. This along with the launch of our new Volvo V40 Hatchback really has improved our sales to the local business market.
“I’d like to thank our team for all their support around the launch. Both Stoneacre Motor Group and Volvo UK have recognised how buoyant the Lincoln business economy is, and with the new showroom we will be able to take full advantage".
Shaun Foweather, MD of Stoneacre Motor Group, travelled to Lincoln for the official opening. He said: The new showroom is the most elite one that we have in the Stoneacre Group. A lot of money, time and effort has gone into the brand and the build, and I have every confidence that it will work for us.
“Feedback from the customers is really positive, and I think the new Lincoln showroom will give us a better presence with Volvo UK. As a group, we had a lot to prove to Volvo because it was the first premium brand we’ve taken into the group".
“We have built a loyal customer base over the last 18 months, and the Lincoln showroom launch has been a big day for us. It has given us the opportunity to spend quality time with Volvo UK team, taking them to our head office and showing them what Stoneacre is all about. We finished the day off by coming to Lincoln to celebrate the opening of the new showroom with Steven Morris and his team”.
