Here at Stoneacre, we specialise in financing used cars of all makes and models and compare a comprehensive list of lenders in order to find you the best deal. From high street names to alternative lenders, we've pretty much got the market covered.
Aside from the finance, we also stock in excess of 3,000 high quality used cars, all of which come with a free Experian vehicle check. Ensuring the car you plan to finance hasn't been written off, isn't flagged as stolen and doesn't have outstanding finance, it's great for added peace of mind.
Used car finance is a quick and hassle free way to fund the purchase of a used car. It's essentially an alternative to paying by cash or a traditional high street loan and the go to method for 80 per cent of used car buyers in the UK.
It gives you the freedom to drive away in your chosen car without having to pay the full list price on day one. Instead, the balance is divided equally between 12 – 60 monthly installments and collected by Direct Debit on a pre-defined date every month. Furthermore, there's often no deposit to pay upfront and rates can be as good as interest free.
At Stoneacre, there are three ways to finance a used car, each of which has differing degrees of flexibility. Here they are:
Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) – PCP is without a doubt the most flexible of the three options and unsurprisingly the most popular way to finance a used car in the UK. It's ideal if you are undecided on vehicle ownership, want to keep your payments as low as possible and want the freedom to switch to a different car after just 2-3 years. However, before deciding on a PCP, you should read our comprehensive guide here.
Hire Purchase (HP) – HP is essentially a long-term lease that leads to vehicle ownership once all payments have been made. Ideal for those who have have been refused finance for a used car in the past, it's also a great alternative to a personal loan. Our guide to HP is worth a read if you would like to better understand this option.
Motor Loan – A motor loan is essentially identical to a personal loan, but one that can only be used to purchase a car. It's great if you want to own the car from day one, don't have a deposit to put down and want to avoid having a fixed mileage allowance.
