Ford’s popular hot-hatch is set to get even hotter in 2018

Ford are set to celebrate the seventh generation of their best-selling Ford Fiesta with the launch of a scorching new version of the hot-hatch favourite, the Fiesta ST.

Equipped with an all-new lightweight, aluminium 1.5-litre 197bhp engine, the Fiesta ST will sprint from 0-62mph in an eyeball-spinning 6.7 seconds. A tarmac-tearing top speed of 140mph is also being anticipated. That’s big performance from a small car. No wonder Ford are so excited. Yet it would be wrong to think that the forthcoming Fiesta ST is a one trick pony. This car has more depth.

Make the ST your own – now with added personalisation

With a nod to the younger end of the market, Ford are promising potential drivers increased personalisation. A choice of interior styling options will let owners put their own stamp on the car, by taking their pick from a selection of trim and finishes around the cockpit. Watch out for the new exterior paint colour too; Liquid Blue.

Yet Ford’s design boffins have made sure that the Fiesta ST will be unmistakably…well…ST, with an aggressive bumper and grille, a painted rear diffuser, exclusive 18-inch alloys, chunky Recaro sports seats and even a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel for that authentic race-car feel.

Speaking of steering, Ford’s engineers have made a big deal about the new Fiesta ST’s improved handling. The European testing team in Belgium have fine-tuned the car’s steering to make sure it ‘…drives exactly as a Fiesta should.’

Drive the way you prefer – Normal, Sport or Track

In addition to chassis tweaks made to improve grip, the new ST will come with three selectable driving modes – Normal, Sport and Track. Although these are pretty self-explanatory, switching modes will offer altering traction control, varied throttle response, power steering and exhaust value settings.

Ford’s all-new Fiesta ST will be the brand’s star of the Geneva Motor Show in 2017 and is set to hit the roads in early 2018. We’ll be the first to tell you when it hits the Stoneacre showrooms and the car will be available to order from our specialist Ford dealerships later this year.
