New look and feel helps Hyundai i10 mix it with the city-car big boys

City cars watch out! The revamped Hyundai i10 hits the forecourts in January with one mission in mind – to give the VW Up, Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii a real run for their money.

An eye-catching facelift and a tech-injection make the i10 a serious contender in what is fast becoming an extremely competitive sector. Young urban drivers increasingly want a small car that delivers economy and performance, yet doesn’t cut corners on comfort, convenience and increasingly, technology. Hyundai’s i10 seeks to meet on these demands head on.

Compact, confident and contemporary

Externally, the biggest changes can be found at the front of the car. Already compact and confident, the i10 now boats a ‘cascading’ new bumper and a signature grille with definite ‘check-me-out’ appeal. Thanks to perky new 14” alloy or steel wheels, the car bristles with energy too.

Inside the i10, the changes are even more profound. A new red trim is available as standard, giving the dash and interior an assured and contemporary feel. This fits snugly with a great new tech reboot that includes a new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with sat-nav.

Top spec i10 models will also come fitted with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, letting busy city-drivers synch with their smartphones and safely use their apps and phones on the move.

Perfectly equipped to conquer the tight city-streets

On the tarmac, the i10 looks to be even more responsive. The handling of current 1.0 and 1.25 litre petrol engines has been enhanced with a modified steering rack – creating a car that can manoeuvre around bustling city-streets and take on tiny parking spaces with ease.

City-car safety is a propriety too and Hyundai has upgraded the i10 with a suite of enhanced features. This includes front collision warning (giving a visual and audible indicators if a crash is imminent) and lane departure warning systems.

Clearly, thanks to its raft of new technology and a new look both inside and out, the relaunched i10 is fully equipped to take on the city-car establishment…and win! Check it out on our Hyundai forecourt in Chesterfield from January.
