The UK saw the best figures for new car registrations in five years over 2013, with over 2.2 million new vehicles being sold in Britain over the last 12 months.
An increase of 10.8 per cent compared to that of 2012’s figures places the UK car industry in a very healthy position and the 2,264,737 new cars registered is the best since 2007.
Not only that, but December 2013 saw the 22nd consecutive monthly rise in new car sales. On average, an extra 600 cars were sold per day last year than the previous, making the UK the second largest car market in Europe and the only one to grow consistently throughout 2013.
It may be no surprise that motorists have a larger demand these days for the likes of smaller, more fuel efficient models, while SUVs and MPVs have also had an increase in numbers thanks to their added versatility.
