Doncaster Rovers clinched the League One title at the end of last month thanks to James Coppinger’s injury-time winner against Brentford in a nervy finale. The fight for automatic promotion and the League One trophy ended in nail biting fashion as a last minute Brentford penalty crashed against the crossbar resulting in a Doncaster Rovers counter attack and goal in the dying seconds.

Thousands of Doncaster Rovers fans lined the streets two days later as the team paraded the silverware, celebrating the success in becoming League One champions. Manager Brian Flynn described the victory as a “monumental effort” saying ”You concede a penalty and you fear for the worst but thankfully it turned out brilliant.”

As Associate Shirt Sponsors, Stoneacre were ecstatic when Doncaster Rovers won the league and it wasn’t long until the trophy made its way to Stoneacre Head Quarters, much to the delight of the staff. Stoneacre employee, Larry Simon said “It really made you feel part of the team’s success, and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to lift a trophy like that”.

There was a real sense of pride and achievement as the staff enjoyed the experience, many of the whom are Rovers fans and revelled in being able to get their hands on the prize.

Finance Manager, Karen Browne said ”It was fantastic to see the trophy firsthand, and as sponsors it’s great to be able to celebrate with the team. It made my kid’s day seeing the photographs too!”.

Good luck to Doncaster Rovers in the Championship, and who knows – maybe we’ll be seeing them compete in the Premier League in the not too distant future.
